Seven Milles Times FYI "Vera Vinho Verde (Minho, Portugal):
This wine is made by Luis Duarte, one of Portugal’s preeminent vignerons. Boasting zippy freshness over a base of minerality, this is surely the most serious Vinho Verde we have encountered. It will serve as a perfect thirst quencher through summer and beyond.
Vera Alvarinho (Minho, Portugal): This is not a misspelling, but Portugal’s version of its neighbors in Spain’s famous Albarino wine. It’s 100 percent Alvarinho, from a rolling stone vineyard that runs along the back of the Minho River. The wine has aromas of ripe melon and yellow grapefruit. On the palate, there is great concentration and texture, with flavors of lime, yellow grapefruit, and a touch of salinity leading to a long, full finish."
